One of my favorite places to go and draw / be is Disneyland.
If I have the time I rustle up a sketchbook and a couple of pencils, go find a place to be and just draw what I see. One of my favorite attractions through and through is The Haunted Mansion. I'm still fascinated by the mechanics of it, love the mod in there and go on it as much as I possibly can stand.
I'm that guy who waits for the crowd to go ahead so I can linger in the back, just soaking up everything. The production design, the art design and the whole place is just unbelievably amazing to me - still. To think this thing was designed in the early '60s and implemented in the late '60s, yet still holds up to this day is an incredible testament to the genius of the attraction.
Anyhoo, I also love the older Disneyland posters from when I grew up and have long wanted to do one of them myself. So I combined both of these things and decided to re-do The Haunted Mansion attraction poster in my own style, for nobody's benefit but my own (and the random people who happen to like it too).
Here's the result of the above rant.
